Second week of Embroidry

During my second week of embroidery I created my ten samples, which I struggled to do, is such a small amount of time, however I have a machine have home which gave me extra time produce my samples over the weekend.

 I this week has been very productive and useful for example the Friday drawing day was very helpful we had to split up into groups and combine are drawing and ideas together,  we looked at the previous groups work and they weaved there drawings together so  we all decided to do one drawing each  and cut out the negative space and place them above one another which  reminded us of reverse pleykay which we did on hand sow embroidery day  it think  this idea worked really well because you can move the pictures to create different positions which gives you a different feeling to the work .

First week of Embroidery

During my first week of Embroidery, I found it quite difficult to incorporate my ideas and design with the sewing machine, I resolved this problem by only useing the shapes and patterns from my orignial image of door handles and the mark making Friday drawing day task, if you look closely at the photos of door handles jug handles you can see lots of    shapes and patterns on each door handle.
I my work I  draw quite shechey and scrachey I attempted  this on the machine makeing attempting to sow in my stlye of drawing which was quite fun to do.

What I  enjoyed this week was learing what each setting was for on the sowing machine and that each foot for the machine has a different job a diffrent role to play  it was its amazing all the things you can produce on a simple machine. 

Trip to Liverpool

I decided to go to Liverpool, as London was too expensive and Liverpool has a wide range of gallery to explore I went with my peers as I tend to get lost quite lot, So we planed the trip by printing off maps and researching galleries or places’ we would like to go beforehand so we would not get lost I really enjoyed the Walker gallery as there was a wide selection of painting and objects both modern and old. As I was looking at different door handles for my sampling brief what caught my eye was the old jugs and pots handles which had unique designs. 

The Walker gallery is home to a national of painting it was originally from the people of the city it now holds the best collection of historic art outside of London.

We also went to the Maritime Museum the Liverpool shopping centre the Tate Gallery and the Bluecoats.

 I was very impressed of the amount we saw and done in such little time it was really a good day out.
